Hotel Petra Santa Boutique regulates the entry, registration and accommodation of children and adolescents to guarantee their protection and prevent exploitation, abuse, violence or misuse in travel and tourism.<\/p>

Applicable framework<\/h2>

  • Political Constitution of Colombia.<\/p><\/li>

  • Law 1098 of 2006.<\/p><\/li>

  • Law 679 of 2001.<\/p><\/li>

  • Law 1336 of 2009.<\/p><\/li>

  • Resolution 3840 of 2009.<\/p><\/li>

  • Rules of the Penal Code related to crimes against the freedom, integrity and sexual development of children and adolescents.<\/p><\/li>

  • Current regulations applicable to the National Tourism Registry and tourism service providers.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    Special protection<\/h2>

    All minors are entitled to special protection. The hotel's decisions will be governed by the best interests of the child, the primacy of their rights, and the prevention of any risk.<\/p>

    Admission and accommodation<\/h2>

    People under 18 years of age may enter and stay only with their parents, legal representative or an adult expressly authorized by them.<\/p>

    Accommodation of minors alone or accompanied by an adult who cannot prove kinship, legal representation or express and verifiable authorization will not be permitted.<\/p>

    Required documents<\/h2>

    When the child stays with both parents<\/h3>

    • Minor's identity document.<\/p><\/li>

    • Civil registry, when necessary to verify kinship.<\/p><\/li>

    • Identity documents of both parents.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

      When the minor stays with one of his parents<\/h3>

      • Minor's identity document.<\/p><\/li>

      • Civil birth certificate.<\/p><\/li>

      • Identity document of the accompanying father or mother.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

        The hotel may request authorization from the non-accompanying parent when there are inconsistencies, alerts, reasonable doubt or according to the conditions of the reservation.<\/p>

        When the minor stays with a third party<\/h3>

        • Minor's identity document.<\/p><\/li>

        • Copy of the civil birth certificate.<\/p><\/li>

        • Written authorization signed by both parents or by whoever exercises custody or legal representation.<\/p><\/li>

        • Copies of the identity documents of the parents, guardians or representatives.<\/p><\/li>

        • Original identity document of the accompanying adult.<\/p><\/li>

        • Contact information.<\/p><\/li>

        • Exact arrival and departure dates.<\/p><\/li>

        • Name of the hotel and express authorization for accommodation at Hotel Petra Santa Boutique.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

          The hotel may require notarized authentication of the authorization.<\/p>

          Contents of the authorization<\/h2>

          The authorization must include:<\/p>

          • Full names of the minor.<\/p><\/li>

          • Type and number of the minor's identity document.<\/p><\/li>

          • Names, identity documents and signature of the parents or representatives.<\/p><\/li>

          • Names and identity document of the accompanying adult.<\/p><\/li>

          • Arrival and departure dates.<\/p><\/li>

          • Reason for the trip.<\/p><\/li>

          • Name of the establishment.<\/p><\/li>

          • Contact phone numbers.<\/p><\/li>

          • Express declaration of authorization.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

            Prohibited situations<\/h2>

            • Sexual exploitation, abuse, pornography, sex tourism or violence against children and adolescents.<\/p><\/li>

            • Accommodation of unaccompanied minors.<\/p><\/li>

            • Accommodation with an adult who cannot prove a relationship, custody or authorization.<\/p><\/li>

            • Submission of incomplete, illegible, inconsistent, or false documents.<\/p><\/li>

            • Any conduct that puts the integrity of the minor at risk.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

              Accommodation verification and denial<\/h2>

              The reception staff will verify and keep a copy of the media, record the corresponding information, and escalate cases to management when necessary.<\/p>

              The hotel will deny entry, registration or accommodation when the established requirements are not met.<\/p>

              Warning signs<\/h2>

              Warning signs will include, among others:<\/p>

              • Refusal to provide documents.<\/p><\/li>

              • Inconsistencies in the information or documents.<\/p><\/li>

              • A distressed minor or one who is unaware of the conditions of the trip.<\/p><\/li>

              • Adult who avoids answering questions.<\/p><\/li>

              • Last minute booking with insufficient documentation.<\/p><\/li>

              • Large age difference with no proven link.<\/p><\/li>

              • Request for unusual discretion.<\/p><\/li>

              • Sexualized, aggressive, coercive, or intimidating behaviors.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

                In the event of an alert, the accommodation process will be suspended until management carries out the corresponding verification.<\/p>

                Report of risk situations<\/h2>

                When there is suspicion of risk, exploitation, abuse, trafficking or violence, the hotel will report the situation to the Child and Adolescent Police, the ICBF, Line 141, 123 or the Prosecutor's Office, as appropriate.<\/p>

                The best interests of the child take precedence over any commercial interest.<\/p>

                Document preservation<\/h2>

                The media will be kept for a minimum of five (5) years or for the longer term that may be applicable, under criteria of confidentiality, custody, integrity and availability.<\/p>

                Code of conduct and training<\/h2>

                The hotel has a code of conduct and training for the prevention of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.<\/p>

                Right to refuse service<\/h2>

                The hotel may deny entry, registration or accommodation due to lack of documents, inconsistencies, absence of link or authorization, risk, suspicion or non-compliance with this policy.<\/p>

                Acceptance<\/h2>

                Booking, entering or checking in a minor constitutes express acceptance of this policy.<\/p>
